The Thief and subsequent novels in the series by Megan Whalen Turner; The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale; The Book Theif by Zusak; Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier. Those are all young adult. If you're looking for "mature" fiction try Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Stiff by Mary Roach, or Enchantment by Orson Scott Card. Hope that helps!
One of my most favorite books EVER is called Before Midnight, by Cameron Dokey. It has absolutely beautiful everything. After I read the first paragraph, I was in love. It's a retelling of Cinderella (I LOVE retellings of fairy tales:) Anytime anyone asks me my favorite book or a book I would recommend, I say that one.
