Seriously?

Today, while walking out of church to head home, I tripped in the parking lot. Yeah, again.
I fell and skinned up both my knees, and scraped the fabric off the top of my favorite pair of shoes.

Pay attention from 4:08 to 4:26.

Ok, universe, it's gettin kinda old now.

ouch.

My innate klutziness reared it's ugly head earlier tonight. Wanna hear about it?
I knew you would.
Margot had just fallen asleep in my arms and I was on my way to take her to her crib. Our room was dark and I couldn't see, and I tripped over a laundry basket Portia dumped over earlier, and fell. Luckily, I caught myself without falling on Margot, who, of course, woke up and was wailing, but unharmed. I can't say the same for me.
I had to twist myself a bit to not land on Margot, and I landed completely on my elbows, popping my shoulder out of socket in the process. I also got some pretty gnarly carpet burns on my elbows. I was really nervous at first that Margot was hurt, so I panicked and snapped my arms up, popping my shoulder back into socket, which hurt just as much as popping it out.
My shoulder is really sore, so I'm icing it, which I hate doing, because I'm a huge wimp. Why does ice have to be so cold?
Dangit.

Margot is crawling!

Or scooting.
It's still adorable.

my top 10 vacation spots

10. The Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia. Can you imagine scuba diving there? That would be awesome.

9. Italy. The food, the scenery, the history; Italy would be so fun.

8. Washinton DC. Brandon and I went here on our honeymoon, and loved it! There is so much to see! I would love to go back.

7. The Sequoyah National Park in California. Gigantic trees bigger than a house? Don't mind if I do.

6. Hawaii. It's one of the few states I haven't been to, and absolutely beautiful! I would totally learn to hula.

5.The Louvre.  To see "Venus de Milo", "Mona Lisa", and "Liberty Leading the People" in person would be astounding!

4. A cruise.  I would get to lie around and relax, not have to do any laundry, cook, or plan entertainment; sounds wonderful. Plus, you know I love me some king-of-the-world jokes.
I'll never let go, Jack!

3. Ireland. I would love to spend some time in the country of my ancestors.
Plus, Ireland has castles, man.

2. Costa Rica. To me, Costa Rica means paradise. Everything from gorgeous beaches to lush rain forests. Sounds amazing.

and finally...

1. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Dudes, you can sit down in The Three Broomsticks and have a Butterbeer. You can buy sweets at Honeyduke's. You can go to Dumbledore's office. DUMBLEDORE'S OFFICE!

What am I doing? Oh, just walking around Hogsmeade, no big deal.

ready for swimming!

The OKC Zoo is really awesome. There's a children's area with a petting zoo, a little river, and a splash pad. Portia loves the water.

We took the girls the other day, and Portia did this for a good hour and a half, until she was so cold her lips were blue, and even then I had to force her out!

Sept. 27th can't come fast enough!

The Casual Vacancy is the name of J. K. Rowling's new book, set to be released Sept. 27th.
http://www.usatoday.com/life/books/news/story/2012-04-12/harry-potter-jk-rowling-new-book/54200224/1

Here's what the publisher posted:

"When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty fa?ade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils…Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?"

It's supposed to be darkly humorous. I'm really excited!

I'm a foody.

I have very little self-control when it comes to food. It's a real problem. Most of the time, I over-indulge on sweets, but here are a few of my favorite non-dessert foods that I just can't stop eating.

1. Japanese food- Give me a big bowl of Miso and a dragon roll, and I'm a happy camper.

2. Pickles, specifically Vlasic Zesty Dill Spears and anything by Claussen. I can seriously sit down and eat an entire jar at once.

3. Mangoes are me absolute favorite fruit. I like to close my eyes and pretend I'm on a white sanded beach in the Caribbean while I eat them.

4. Garlic bread, especially at restaurants. I might as well not order any actual food, because I'll just eat the bread all night anyway. Mmmm and when they bring you that olive oil/balsamic/spices stuff, I'm a goner.

5. Cheez-its, the kind that has 2 different flavors in one box. Good heavens, they're ridiculous.

Alright. I'm going to stop, before I start licking the computer screen.

Easter sunday

Here are some pictures of our Easter!

Brandon's parents and my parents and sister came down for the day.

things i'm lovin today, birthday edition

I know it's a few days late, but here's what I was loving on my birthday:

1. The awesome lunch with Brandon and the girls at Zio's. Our food was yummy, the babies behaved wonderfully, and we got to sit down at a nice restaurant as a family!

2. The 3-hour nap that Brandon let me take after my pasta kicked in.

3. The tasty cheesecake that our friends, Dave and Nine, treated us to! It was amazing!

4. The drive we took, just listening to music and talking while the girls snoozed in their carseats.

5. The fireworks that were going off over Bricktown that we saw on our way home. It's like the whole city was celebrating my birthday!!

6. This happened the next day, but its hilarious. Brandon's parents came into town on Saturday for Easter and were asking if we had bought a cake for my birthday, and I said that we hadn't. Portia looked up from her coloring and said empathetically, "Oh honey, it's alright. We'll get you a cake!"

birthday

When I was younger, I had a birthday wish list started months in advance. I would print it off a few weeks before my birthday and present it to all my family. I always knew what I wanted.
My birthday is Friday, I haven't got a clue what I want.
I actually forgot that it was coming up a few times.
