I'm not going back to the library for a few weeks.

You will not believe what just happened to me. I took the girls to the public library for a little bit before lunch. Portia was off playing and I was holding Margot on my hip, when a woman started chatting with me.
Now I'm used to strangers talking to me about my kids, I'm even pretty used to strangers tickling their toes or patting their chubby hands. I don't love it, but I'm used to it. But I was not prepared for what this woman did.
She pinched cheeks, grabbed toes, tickled tummy, her hands were all over Margot. It made me a little uncomfortable, but I assumed she would soon move on. She didn't. She then started kissing and hugging Margot. Kissing her face, hugging her close. Keep in mind that I'm still holding my baby, so she is really close to me. Then things started getting real weird. Margot spit her binky out and it landed on the floor. This crazy woman picked it up, and put it in her own mouth. What?!? Are you kidding me?!? She then tried to put it back in Margot's mouth. I intercepted it, thank heavens.
At this point, I was trying to get Portia's attention so we could leave, when the woman put her hands out towards Margot and said "Do you wanna come to me?" I held Margot tight and said something about needing to go soon. Apparently that was the wrong answer, because this woman grabbed my child and yanked her out of my arms, saying "I'm sorry, I just really love babies."
I was furious. I told her that I too love babies, especially my own baby, and could she please give her back. She did, and I grabbed my stuff and Portia and we booked it to the car.
Guess what. She followed us. I looked up from buckling Margot into her carseat and found Nutso standing with her own toddler at my car, ogling Portia now. I couldn't believe it. She made my skin crawl, and I was half afraid that she was going to grab my kids and run off with them. We got all buckled it and I locked the doors and we went home.
If you go to the Norman library anytime soon, don't lose sight of your kids.

pregnancy brain

It's makin me crazy!!
Yesterday morning, I woke up feeling exhausted. I have been having a harder time sleeping lately. I blame it on the fact that I have to pee 30 times a night, or the fact that I am roughly the size of a barge.
Anyways, I woke up groggy and wishing it was already nap time, so I could lay back down. And then pregnancy brain set in.
At nap time, I was browsing the web, and happened across a cookie recipe that I thought sounded wonderful! Rocky Road Ice Cream Cookies. I had all the ingredients, so naturally, I printed the recipe to try it out.
Brandon walked into the kitchen to ask if I wanted to lay down for a nap, and he found me wild-eyed and wielding a whisk. He later said that he thought I'd lost my mind. I told him of my cookie plans, and he left me to my choco-mallow crazy-fest.
I made the cookies, following the recipe loosely. Quite loosely.
When I baked the first batch, I started to recognize my "improvements" probably weren't the best. The first 8 cookies had turned into a giant melty goo-cookie; the marshmallows had melted and expanded in the oven, and it didn't look appetizing. I tried a bite. It didn't taste very appetizing either.
But I thought that I couldn't let the rest of the dough go to waste, so I decided to tun it into brownies. I added a few more ingredients, and put the remaining disaster-mix into a brownie pan, and back into the oven it went!
Again, not a good plan. This time, the marshmallows formed a crust on top of the mixture, and frankly, it looked like poop. By this point, I knew that I had had a lapse in food judgement, and didn't even bother to taste it.
Portia then woke up from her nap, and I was mad at myself for not spending the last 2 hours asleep, like any normal human being would have done.
Brandon laughed with me, and we reminisced about my cooking mishap while pregnant with Portia, when I tried to make spaghetti sauce from scratch. For some reason, it had flour in it. A lot of flour.

juuuuuust kiddddddding...

So I thought Lortab doesn't affect me.
Apparently, I just didn't give it enough time.
It definitely affects me.

I was a little louder and sillier than I meant to be today.

to Lortab, or not to Lortab?

Yesterday morning, I awoke with extreme pain in my back. I went to the doctor, and was told that I have a small sprain/strain in some muscle somewhere in my back (woohoo). Nothing too serious, easily cured with some ice packs, rest, and muscles relaxers and Lortab.
Wait, what? Muscle relaxers AND Lortab?!? Holy crap!
So I took the meds. And I waited. I waited for the buzz, waited for the loopiness, waited to start acting like the sister in Sixteen Candles.
Nothing. I feel nothing different. Not even a little drowsy. And the best part? The pain is still there too.
What's the point?
