Is this a DIY blog now?

Negatory, good buddy. I've just been really crafty lately.
It will pass.
But until it does:

A few days ago, I stumbled across a video about how to make your own lipstick using crayons. Check it out:

Surely, this is too good to be true, right?
I had to try it.

I had no coconut oil, but I read a review saying that olive oil works too, so I tried it.

I dug though the millions of crayons in my house, and found some that I thought would make good lip colors.
I eventually settled on "Tickle-me-pink."

I broke it up into sections, about an inch and a half long, and gathered my other supplies.
Yes, that's a contact case. Who has empty makeup containers laying around? I certainly don't.

I put my crayon pieces and some olive oil in a small glass bowl, and put that bowl in a pot of warming water.
I warmed the concoction up until the crayons were melted and mixed with the oil, then poured it into my contact case.

I was initially really excited, because it looked like a gorgeous pink!

I waited until it dried completely, and tried it on.

Guys, I was a bit disappointed.
It went on smooth, and didn't smell or taste like crayons, but it wasn't very vibrant at all. In order for the color to really show up, I had to glob it on.
It was like tinted lip balm. Which is fine, just not what I was looking for.

So I figured that it would be perfect for my girlies. I made a few more batches, purple this time, and let them go to town!

They were in heaven!

Gettin lippy!

When I wrote that title, my phone automatically changed it to "Gettin loopy". What a jerk.

Anyways.

Remember a few weeks ago, when I said that I was going to start wearing bright-colored lipstick more often? Well, I'm doing it!
I just bought a new lipstick, that I am in love with!

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede in Trendsetter

Ok. You know how regular lipstick wears off after a few hours? And lip stains stay on, but starts to look kinda weird after a bit, like your lips are peeling?

This is kinda a mixture of the two. It has the feel of regular lipstick, smooth and not sticky, but stays on and doesn't flake. It's magic.

I put it on around 1 pm yesterday.
  Pretty huh?

And then I went about my day like normal, just to see how well it really stayed on. This is around 6:30, right after I ate dinner:

And this is around 10, right after I brushed my teeth:
 What!

And this, ladies and gents, is this morning at about 9 am. Right after I took a shower.

Guys, this stuff is not a joke. It stayed on for a long time, even through eating and drinking, and kissing lots of baby cheeks.
I will fosho be buying this brand again!

New Lipstick!

I rarely wear lipstick. And when I do, it's usually never bright colors. I tend to stick to nude colored balms and glosses. I have fairly thin lips, and a very defined cupid's bow. Usually, when I wear bright lipstick, I feel like these two things get amplified.
But I bought a new lip stain a few days back. I was going to go for my usual, but a really pretty coral popped out at me, and in a moment of crazy spontaneity, I bought it.
Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color in Committed Coral

When I tried it on, I loved the color, but I didn't love how thin my lips looked in it. So I turned to my favorite makeup artist's youtube channel for help.
And I found it!

I love Sharon. She posts a new video every week, and her tutorials are fabulous! Plus, her accent is so fun!

After watching this video, I decided to give it a try.

I don't know if my lips really look noticeably bigger, but I am happy with the look! I don't feel like my lips are too thin, but they don't look painted on either.
I think I will be wearing brighter lips a lot!
